Each year, I have the rewarding opportunity to design and create the Cross River Rail internal trophies, which are presented at the end of the year to recognise and celebrate the dedication and hard work of our team.

I strive to develop fresh and meaningful designs that reflect key milestones of the project, with the aim of creating trophies that are both relevant and genuinely appreciated by all recipients.

Below is a selection of past trophies, each accompanied by a brief description outlining the inspiration, design intent, and significance behind each piece.

The 2021 trophy design features a resin-cast replica of a Roadheader pick (tooth) used during the tunnelling for the Cross River Rail project as its centerpiece, symbolising tangible progress at the heart of the project.

The 2022 trophy design features a resin-cast replica of a rail segment from the Cross River Rail line as its centerpiece, symbolising innovation and progress at the heart of the project.

The 2023 trophy design features a resin-cast obelisk etched with the lines of Brisbane’s rail alignment as its centerpiece, symbolising connectivity and integration at the heart of the project.

The 2024 trophy design features the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) artwork by Indigenous artist Rachael Sarra. The design is laser-etched into the surface of the trophy to honour and celebrate the launch of the RAP, symbolising Cross River Rail’s ongoing commitment to collaboration and equality.
